For years I have been fascinated by the profound effect that light has on perception and emotion. That, combined with my love of Impressionism and the reflective qualities of water has resulted a series of images that are semi-abstract in nature and evoke a feeling of peace and tranquility. I capture these photographs using a variety of lenses with optics designed back as far as the year 1839. By experimenting with these “imperfect” lenses from the past I am able to create magical, thought provoking images that exemplify the beauty and pureness of this precious natural resource. This series represents this facet of my work.
