Roch Armando


Roch graduated from the Ecole Supérieure de Réalisation Audiovisuelle (ESRA) in 2007, specializing in lighting technique. During his tenure as a student, he began assisting a highly regarded photographer and had continued assisting him for five years with prestigious shootings, including portraits at the annual Cannes Film Festival, and luxurious fashion and promotional campaigns internationally.

“We found in Roch a strong sensibility, reinforced by his work in lighting,” 

La Strada, a magazine and cultural agenda of the Riviera, contracted Roch from 2007 thru 2009 to cover numerous musical events, including: Monaco’s Festival of Jazz, Juan les Pins’s Festival of Jazz, The Southern Nights of Vence, as well as concerts of Sébastien Tellier, Erik Truffaz, and Sly Johnson.

Now living in Paris, Roch works for the press industry and for commerciale assignents. He covered the last two years Cannes Film Festival for Gala Magazine and is the official photographer of Cabourg Film Festival. Roch shot album cover photos for Ben Sidran (Dylan Different), Flavia Coelho (Bossa muffin), Vicent Loiseau, Rieviere Noire, Romansson, Sandrine Destefanis and Elisa Do Brasil (First Stroke), Gregory Privat (Tales of Cyparis), Riviere Noire.

Among the numerous encounters during the years of portraiture photography, Roch photographed many, including: Woody Allen, Dennis Hopper, Malcolm McDowell, Ewan McGregor, Nanni Moretti, Louis Bertignac, Michael Chaplin, Bill Murray, Wim Wenders, Alpha Blondy, Sébastien Tellier, Erik Truffaz, Anthony Joseph, Grand Corp Malade, Ben Sidran, Herbie Hancock, Roy Hargrove, Asian Dub Foundation, Manu Katche, Avishai Cohen, Raul Midon, Stacey Kent, Sly Johnson, Bruno Lochet…

Roch creates and delivers audacious multiple-shot shootings, always with his particular alchemy of sensibility and light.  He also covers certain unusual events such as the Zombie Parade or Paris Box, to shoot just after the fights…
