Born in Newport Beach, CA of Italian-born parents, I’ve always had the sense and perception of an outsider looking in. I studied studio art and art history at UC Berkeley. I work in paint and photography, occasionally combining the two. My work has been exhibited in various galleries and group shows in Southern California, where I live and work.
I’m interested in the vernacular, the everyday, but also in looking toward something greater. My work is often personal, sometimes sentimental, melancholic, somewhat romantic, or purposefully mysterious with an occasional nod to wit or a knowing smile. I am interested in what is reflected back to the self or viewer; the mood created. Inspiration comes from – a moment, a memory, people in my life, the singular beauty of imperfection and what it is to be human. Music, film, literature and poetry figure prominently. I am in wonder of nature and children – in the complexities of their fragility and resilience. The epic ocean is forever a muse.
